Scripture: Luke 1:34-38 “‘How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.’ ‘I am the Lord’s servant,’ Mary answered. ‘May your word to me be fulfilled.’ Then the angel left her.”
Reflection: Mary’s question wasn’t doubt—it was seeking understanding. There’s a holy difference between questioning God’s ability and seeking to understand His ways. Mary didn’t ask “Can this happen?” but “How will this happen?” Her heart was open to God’s impossible plan, even when her mind couldn’t fully grasp it. Sometimes our greatest breakthroughs come when we stop demanding full understanding and start trusting God’s power to work beyond our comprehension.
Reflection Question: What situation in your life requires you to trust God’s power even when you don’t understand His methods?
Application Step: Identify one area where you’ve been holding back from God’s calling because you don’t understand the “how.” Today, pray specifically: “Lord, I don’t understand how, but I trust You.”
