CARE MINISTRIES

If our church ceased to exist, would the community around it notice? Care Ministries at The Heights aim to answer that question - "Yes".  Jesus did not have a "come and see" kind of ministry. His was a "go and be" - be the hands and feet of the kingdom of God. That's what happens in the Care Ministries here at The Heights.

Each ministry provides a place for those who are hurting or struggling with a difficult season of life to experience spiritual healing. Various groups are available to provide the Godly support needed to heal and get back into the race Christ has called us to run (Heb 12:1-3). 

RE|ENGAGE

Re|engage brings couples together to learn about God’s design for marriage and apply biblical principles for building a healthy relationship. Every week includes a large group and small group setting as you work through the 14-lesson curriculum and learn how to effectively communicate, resolve conflict, and grow closer to your spouse.

The prodigal

The Prodigal provides a safe, caring environment where biblical truths are taught and applied in the context of authentic, accountable community. We believe that regardless of the choices our prodigals make, it is possible for us to:

  • Lead ourselves and our families well
  • Be obedient to Christ
  • Possess great joy
  • Consistently glorify God
  • Always have reason to hope

 

Car Care

The Heights Car Care Ministry is designed to provide basic automotive maintenance services at no cost and on a regular basis to our widows, single moms, and single women at The Heights.

Events are scheduled on Saturdays from 8 AM-12 PM and generally in February, June, and October. Click below for more information on our next event, to volunteer, or to register a vehicle.

Covenant eyes

Covenant Eyes exists to help people overcome pornography and be restored and transformed. Check out their website for courses, articles, and screen accountability software that have helped over 1.5 million people experience victory over porn. Their resources are for all ages and include specific tracks for both men and women.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery focuses on the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that stand in the way of your relationship with God. This ministry is for those dealing with life issues along with family members who support them. Celebrate Recovery meets Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM.

  • 7:30 Men’s and Women’s Open Share Groups*
  • 8:30 Fellowship and Dessert
*Men’s Open Share Groups include: Life Issues, Addictions
*Women’s Open Share Groups Include: Life Issues/Co-dependency, Survivors of Abuse.

Pre-marriage course

The Pre-marriage Course, The Heights’ premarital ministry, is a mentorship designed to prepare seriously dating and engaged couples for a lifetime of marriage. Each couple will meet with a marriage mentor to explore the foundations of a Christ-exalting marriage.

The Course consists of two components: 

First, you and your significant other will complete a SYMBIS assessment (please note the SYMBIS assessment cost $35 per couple). Upon completion, you will review your results with a certified facilitator. Typically, this is done over two sessions. 

After your SYMBIS assessment, we will match you with a trained mentor couple. You will read a book together and engage in meaningful conversation to help you prepare for marriage. Typically, mentor/mentee couples meet four or five times at a time/location that is convenient for both of you.
