Day 4: SURRENDER & HOPE

Opening Prayer

God of yesterday, today, and forever—I come to the end of this year with a full heart. Thank You for carrying me through every moment. As I stand on the threshold of a new year, I release what has been and open my heart to what will be. Lead me forward in faith, anchored in Your love and guided by Your Spirit. Amen.

Scripture

Isaiah 43:18–19

Philippians 3:13–14

Romans 15:13

Reflection

New Year’s Eve is both a finish line and a starting point. Tonight, we pause to name what we’re releasing and to anticipate what God may be preparing. Surrender doesn’t mean forgetting the past—it means offering it fully to Him, trusting that nothing is wasted in His hands. As you reflect, consider:

• What is God inviting me to release before the year ends?

• What do I want to carry forward with intention?

• What hopes or longings do I feel rising for the year ahead?

• Where is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply?

Application

Set aside a quiet moment this evening for surrender—light a candle, step outside for a walk, or simply sit in stillness before God.

• Write down three things you are leaving behind—fears, regrets, or weights you no longer need to carry.

• Write down three things you are carrying forward—a hope, a promise, or a word God has impressed on your heart.

Consider sharing these hopes with someone you trust, or writing a short prayer for the coming year. As midnight approaches, remind your soul: God is already in my tomorrow.

Closing Prayer

Lord, I release this year to You—the victories and the losses. Thank You for sustaining me. As a new year begins, lead me forward in hope and peace. I trust You with my future. Amen.
