Activities:

  • Home Connection
    • NEED: No supplies needed
    • DO:
      • Before the Activity: Encourage the child to stand with you in the activity area.
      • During the Activity: Lead the child to sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” and point to each body part as they sing. Repeat as time and interest allow.
      • After the Activity: Introduce the Bible story by talking about how God made us and knows what’s best for us.
    • Say:
      • Before the Activity: “Friends, come stand with me!”
      • During the Activity: “Let’s sing ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.’ As we sing, we will touch our head (hands on head), shoulders (hands on shoulders), knees (hands on knees), and toes (point to toes). Then we’ll touch our eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. Sing with me!”

        “Head, shoulders, knees, and toes

        Knees, and toes

        Head, shoulders, knees, and toes,

        Knees and toes.”

“Eyes and ears and mouth and nose.

        Head, shoulders, knees, and toes,

        Knees and toes.”

        (Repeat as desired.)

      • After the Activity: “Great singing, friend! Who made your head, shoulders, knees, and toes? (Pause.) That’s right, God did! And who made your eyes, ears, mouth, and nose? (Pause.) God did! God made you; God loves you, and God knows what’s best for you!”
  • Morning Time
    • When you go into your child’s room, look around and say: "Good morning! I'm looking for someone that God loves. [His, her] name is [name of child], and God loves [him, her] a lot! Oh! There you are!" (Cuddle with your child after you "find" them.)
