APRIL 28TH PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM

“Let your light shine.” Matthew 5:16, NIV

Bottom Line: I can do what Jesus says.

This week: We shine like the stars when we do everything without complaining and arguing.

Insight: RESTORATION

Discipleship Kit:

  • Parent Guide – Use this parent guide to help you walk through discipling your preschooler this week
  • Story Video – Each week there will be a new Story Video to watch (from Orange Media)
  • Memory Verse Video –  Your preschooler will learn this month’s memory verse along with hand signals

Activities:

  • Home Connection
    • NEED: No supplies needed
    • DO:
      • Before the Activity: Stand together with the child in an open space.
      • During the Activity: Show the child how to do a star jump by jumping up in the air, extending your arms and legs outward at the same time, and then bringing them back in as you land. Encourage the child to be a star by doing star jumps too. Repeat as desired.
      • After the Activity: Introduce the Bible Story.
    • Say:
      • Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! Come spread out around me. I have something fun for us to do today!”
      • During the Activity: “I’m going to show you a movement for us to do. Ready? (Do a star jump.) Doesn’t that look like fun? What shape did I make with my body? Here, watch me one more time. (Demonstrate.) My body made a star! Let’s all be stars! Jump with me. (Pause.) Great job! Look at you being a shining star!” (Repeat as desired.)
      • After the Activity: “You are a bright, beautiful star! Today in our Bible Story we are going to hear how we can shine bright when we do what Jesus says! I can’t wait! Let’s go, shiny stars!”
  • Bath Time
    • Add plastic stars or sponges cut into the shape of stars to bath time. Sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" together as your child plays with the stars. Talk about how the Bible teaches that when we do everything without complaining or arguing, we shine like the stars!
