Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Red items like pom-poms, red crepe paper streamers, blocks, paper, and bandanas; and a basket or container.
- DO:
- Before the Activity: Spread the red items throughout the room. Place the basket or container in the center of the activity area.
- During the Activity: Invite the child to look for the color red. When the child finds a red item, ask them to pick it up and place it in the basket. Repeat until all red items have been found.
- After the Activity: Introduce the red rope from today’s Bible story.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! I have a fun color hunt for us to go on today!”
- During the Activity: “The color we’re looking for is red, this color. (Hold up a red item.) When you find something red, bring it over and place it in the basket. Ready? Great! Let’s go! (Pause.) Terrific! You found a red [item]! Put it in the basket and keep looking for red things! (Repeat as desired.) Wow! You’re great at finding the color red!”
- After the Activity: : “Super-duper friend! Today in our Bible story, we’ll hear about someone who used a red rope to keep her and her family safe. I can’t wait to hear what happens!”
- Morning Time
- When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! I wonder what brave things God will help us do today."

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Red circle stickers.
- DO:
- Before the Activity: Gather in an open area of your room and give the child a few red circle stickers.
- During the Activity: Encourage the child to stick their stickers on your arms or legs as boo-boos! Remind the child to only place the stickers on your arms or legs. Replace the toys at the end of the line and continue as long as there is interest.
- After the Activity: Introduce today’s story about a man named Naaman who had boo-boos all over his body.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Friend, gather around me. I have some red circle stickers. They look like boo-boos! I’m going to give you a few stickers.”
- During the Activity: “I’ll stand right here. When I count to seven, I want you to come stick your stickers on my arms or legs. Where do we put the stickers? (Pause.) Yes, arms and legs only! Ready? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven! (Pause.) Whoa! Look at all these boo-boos.”
- After the Activity: “In our Bible story today, we’ll hear about a man named Naaman who had boo-boos all over his body! Let’s go find out what happened.”
- Bath Time
- Add a toy person to bath time. Ask your child to pretend the toy is Naaman and count as they dip Naaman into the water seven times. Talk about how God knew what was best for Naaman. So, when Naaman did what God said and dipped into the water seven times, Naaman's boo-boos went away!

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Painter’s tape and basket of toys
- DO:
- Before the Activity: Tape two lines on the floor and put one toy at the end of each line. Put the basket of toys just beyond the end of the lines.
- During the Activity: Encourage the child to follow the line they choose to the toy, pick up the toy, and put it in the basket. Replace the toys at the end of the line and continue as long as there is interest.
- After the Activity: Introduce the Bible story and how Jonah had a choice to make.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Look at these two tape paths on the floor. One has a [toy’s name] at the end. One has a [toy’s name].”
- During the Activity: “Which path do you want to follow, this one or that one? (Point to choices.) Great choice! You chose the path with the [toy’s name]. Follow the path to the [toy’s name] and put it in the basket.” (Continue, replacing the toys each time.)
- After the Activity: “You chose which path to follow while we were playing today. In today’s Bible story, a man named Jonah has to choose which path he will take.”
- Drive Time
- While on the go, say, "God knows what's best for [name of person]." Each time you say it, take turns choosing a different person's name. When you get home, end by saying, "God knows what's best for everyone!"

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Blue crepe paper streamers or two blue scarfs.
- DO:
- Before the Activity: If using streamers, tear into 24-inch lengths.
- During the Activity: Give the child two scarves or streamers and ask them to hold them by one end straight in front of them. Demonstrate. Show the child how to move their arms wide then bring them back together. Repeat as desired.
- After the Activity: Introduce the Bible story.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! Join me over here and grab two [scarves/streamers].”
- During the Activity: “Watch. (Wave the scarves or streamers around.) What do these scarves look like to you? They remind me of water—the way it moves back and forth. Everyone hold your scarves out in front of you like this. (Demonstrate.) Wiggle them around. Great! Right now, the water is together or closed. But what if we did this? (Stretch arms out wide to your side.) The waters opened, didn’t they? When I say, ‘Close,’ bring them together. When I say, ‘Open,’ pull them apart. Ready? And open! (Pause.) Wiggle them around. And close! (Pause.) Wiggle them again. Great job! (Repeat as desired.) That was a lot of fun, pretending to move the water around.”
- After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear a story about how God helps His people get through the water. I can’t wait to hear it!”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, You know everything. You love us, and You always tell the truth. [Name of child] and I can always trust what You say."

- Before the Activity: Encourage the child to stand with you in the activity area.
- During the Activity: Lead the child to sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” and point to each body part as they sing. Repeat as time and interest allow.
- After the Activity: Introduce the Bible story by talking about how God made us and knows what’s best for us.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Friends, come stand with me!”
- During the Activity: “Let’s sing ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.’ As we sing, we will touch our head (hands on head), shoulders (hands on shoulders), knees (hands on knees), and toes (point to toes). Then we’ll touch our eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. Sing with me!”

- After the Activity: “Great singing, friend! Who made your head, shoulders, knees, and toes? (Pause.) That’s right, God did! And who made your eyes, ears, mouth, and nose? (Pause.) God did! God made you; God loves you, and God knows what’s best for you!”
- Morning Time
- When you go into your child’s room, look around and say: "Good morning! I'm looking for someone that God loves. [His, her] name is [name of child], and God loves [him, her] a lot! Oh! There you are!" (Cuddle with your child after you "find" them.)

- DO:
- Before the Activity: Gather the child to stand in front of you.
- During the Activity: Challenge the child to move like different people: firefighter, baby, mom at the grocery store, bus driver, dancer, runner, rock climber, etc.
- After the Activity: Introduce the Bible story.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Join me over here. We’re going to move like the person I call out, so listen closely.”
- During the Activity: “Move like a firefighter! Carry the firehose and put out the fire! (Demonstrate.) Awesome! Move like a baby. How do babies move? They crawl! Can you crawl like a baby? (Pause.) Now let’s move like a mommy at the grocery store. Push the cart! (Demonstrate.) Great job! What about a bus driver? Drive the bus. (Pause.) Move like a dancer! (Pause.) Wow! You are a great dancer! Let’s move like runners! Run, run, run! (Continue as desired.) Nice job! That was a lot of fun, moving like lots of different people.”
- After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear about God’s most special creation—people! I can’t wait to hear all about it.”
- Bath Time
- Have a hand mirror nearby during bath time. Put shampoo in your child's hair and encourage them to make silly hair styles with it. Let your child look at their hair in the mirror. Talk about how God saw everything He had made, and it was very good.

- DO:

- During the Activity: “Let’s swim like goldfish! They are small and wiggle when they swim. (Pause.) Great job! Swim like jellyfish! Let your body go loose like a bowl of jelly and bob up and down. (Pause.) What about a dolphin? Dolphins jump through the water. Let’s swim like dolphins! (Pause.) You are all amazing sea animals! “Now let’s try flying like birds. First, let’s fly like an eagle. Hold your wings out super wide and glide. (Pause.) Awesome! Fly like a hummingbird. Hummingbirds are tiny and flap their wings super fast. (Pause.) Blue jays like to dive when they fly. Let’s fly like a blue jay. (Pause.) What great flying birds you are! Can you fly like an owl and pretend to be Ollie? Perfect! Let’s fly like a flamingo. Wait! Flamingos don’t fly! They stand on one foot. Let’s be flamingos. Way to go! (Continue as desired with different sea animals and birds.) You did such a great job of swimming like sea animals and flying like birds!”
- After the Activity: “I can’t wait to hear our Bible story that will tell us all about how God made these amazing sea animals and birds!”
- Drive Time
- While on the go, take turns naming sea animals. How many sea animals can you name? Talk about which ones are your favorite.

- NEED: “Creation Run” Activity Pages and cardstock and painters tape
- DO:
- Before the Activity: Place the Creation Run Images on the floor around the room and secure with blue painter’s tape.
- During the Activity: Call out something God created and encourage the child to run to that color of paper. Repeat as desired.
- After the Activity: Introduce the Bible story.
- Say:
- Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! I’m so happy to see you and learn more about the things that God created.”
- During the Activity: “: “There are different pictures on the floor around the room. I will call out the different things God created and you will run to them. Are you ready? Run to the sea! (Pause.) Good job! You ran to the seas! Now I want you to run to the sun! (Pause.) Yay! You ran to the sun! (Continue with each plants and trees, land, stars, and moon.) That was so much fun!”
- After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear a story about the things God made on days three and four. I wonder if we’ll hear about land, plants, seas, sun, moon, and stars! Let’s go find out!”
- Cuddle Time
- Cuddle with your child and pray: "God, it's amazing to look up in the sky and think about how You made the sun to shine during the day and the moon and stars to shine at night. Wow! Only You can do that! I pray every time we see the sun, moon and stars, we will remember how powerful and creative and good You are."

AUGUST 6TH PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM

Activities:
- Home Connection
- NEED: Preschool doctor kits and several plush friends.
- DO: Before the Activity: Six cup muffin tin and blue and white pom poms. During the Activity: Show the child both pom poms. Tell them the blue is for water and the white is for sky. Ask the children to put one sky and one water in each spot. Empty the tins and this time, put two sky in each spot. Keep going with different combinations. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll find out who made the sky and water.
- Say: Before the Activity: “Hello, friend! Find a seat at the table. There are blue and white pom poms. We’re going to do an activity with them.” During the Activity: “Let’s say these white pom poms are the sky and the blue pom poms are the water. Can you put one sky and one water pom pom in each of the spots in your muffin tin? (Pause.) Do you have one white and one blue in each spot? (Pause.) Great! Okay, take all the pom poms out. (Pause.) Now put two sky pom poms in each spot. (Pause.) Take all those pom poms out. (Pause.) This time, put three water and three sky pom poms in each spot. (Pause.) Wow! Great job! (Repeat with different combinations as long as desired.) Help me put all the pom poms in the tins.”
After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear a story about who made the sky and the water.”
- Morning Time
- When you go into your child’s room, say: "Good morning, [child's name]! The sky God made is bright with light! That means it's time for us to wake up!"

- NEED: Preschool doctor kits and several plush friends.
- DO: Before the Activity: Place the doctor kits and plush friends on a table. During the Activity: Encourage the children to use the doctor kits to make their plush friends feel better. After the Activity: Talk about how we’ll hear about a special place where there will be no boo-boos or sickness.
- Say: Before the Activity: ““Friend, let’s pretend to be doctors.” (Hold up doctor kits.) During the Activity: “I see that our plush friends might not be feeling well. Let’s be good doctors and help them feel better! (Pause.) Did you help all our plush friends? (Pause.) Great job! You are all awesome doctors! It’s no fun when we get boo-boos or feel yucky.” (Repeat as desired.)
After the Activity: “Today, we’ll hear a story about a place where there are no more sickies or boo-boos. It sounds like an amazing place. I can’t wait to hear about it!”
- Morning Time
- When you go into your child’s room, say: "Good morning, [child's name]! Look out the window at the sun, trees, birds... Jesus made all of that, and now He's making a place where we will be with Him forever."
