MEET THE HAMMONS

For more than three decades, Earl and Tami Hammons have poured their lives into ministry—whether shepherding churches, guiding Christian schools, or serving behind the scenes in administration. Those who know them describe a steady faithfulness and a genuine love for people that has marked every step of their journey. What began as a short trip to the Dominican Republic in 2009 soon became a life-changing call. Earl and Tami felt God stir in their hearts a passion for the Dominican people, eventually leading them to launch Hammons Mission in 2011 and move full-time to the field just a few years later. They have invested in church planting, child development, and training future pastors and leaders across both the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Through it all, their ministry continues to be driven by a simple desire: to make disciples and see lives transformed by the hope of Christ.

ALL ABOUT HAMMONS MISSION

Earl and Tami Hammons, along with their family, are dedicated to making disciples and transforming communities in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Their ministry reflects a holistic approach—spanning church planting, education, construction, and child development—all aimed at sharing the hope of Christ and equipping the next generation of leaders.

  • Church Planting & Church Construction
    • Dominican Church: Launched Iglesia Bautista Barrio Nuevo in 2016 to make disciples through a healthy local body of believers who grow spiritually, evangelize, and glorify God.
    • Haitian Church: Began a Haitian Creole congregation in 2019, offering worship, discipleship, and evangelism in the heart language of their community.
    • Construction: Partnered with local leaders to build churches and ministry facilities, expanding opportunities for worship and discipleship.
  • Child Development Center
    • Serving the community of Barrio Nuevo by investing in the Body (nutritious meals), Soul (teaching the Word of God), and Mind (discipline, leadership, and core academics).
    • Focused on shaping the next generation to bring long-term spiritual and social transformation.

  • Seminary & Leadership Institute
    • Partner school of Louisiana Baptist University’s International Education Program.
    • Offers programs ranging from an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies to a Master’s degree, equipping pastors, church planters, and leaders in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

WAYS TO PRAY

  • Pray for the continued growth and health of the Dominican and Haitian congregations, that new believers would be discipled and strengthened in their faith.
  • Ask God to raise up faithful pastors, teachers, and church planters through the Seminary & Leadership Institute, equipping leaders who will serve with wisdom and endurance.
  • Pray for the children in Barrio Nuevo to experience the love of Christ through the meals, teaching, and mentorship they receive, and that their lives would be transformed for the future.
  • Lift up the ongoing need for resources, partnerships, and financial support to sustain and expand their church construction, training, and community ministries.
  • Pray for Earl and Tami’s health, encouragement, and spiritual strength as they continue serving in challenging contexts, that they would find rest and renewal in Christ.
