LEARNING TO PRAY
We were given a model and a map of how to pray by the Son of God himself, Jesus. Give these steps a try if you want to talk to God for the first time or are looking for ways to grow in your prayer life.
1. Pray the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
2. P. R. A. Y
Use this simple acronym to help you talk to God:
PAUSE
Breathe deeply and be still in God’s presence.
REJOICE
What’s been good today? Thank God for it.
ASK
Ask God to help you and those you care about.
YIELD
Ask God to help you and those you care about.
