LIVING THE BEATITUDES

Below are a few suggestions to help you incorporate the Beatitudes into your family’s daily rhythms. We encourage you to try a new one each week! We’d love to hear how it’s blessing your family’s life!

LUNCH ENCOURAGEMENT

What if you sent a handwritten note in your child’s lunch with a specific Beatitude that you are praying over them? No matter what they are facing, they will know you are thinking about them.

COMMUTE MEMORIZATION

What if you used your commute to memorize the Beatitudes? By memorizing one verse per week, you can learn all the Beatitudes in twelve weeks.

HABIT STACKING

What if you picked a daily task like brushing your teeth and intersected it with memorizing the Beatitudes? Habit stacking can turn a routine activity into a meaningful spiritual practice.

FIXED HOUR PRAYER

What if you decided to pray through a Beatitude at the same time every day? Fixed-hour prayer is a time-tested way to develop regular and consistent moments throughout the day for prayer.

SEND A TEXT

What if once a week you texted your spouse, child, or friend a Beatitude and specifically how you were praying it for them? Think of the encouragement and support through this simple act.

BREATH PRAYERS

What if you chose a Beatitude to claim as your go-to verse throughout the day? The beauty of breath prayers is in their portability; you can take them anywhere and find moments of peace and reflection.

BEDTIME PRAYER

What if you prayed a Beatitude for your children every night when they went to bed? This can instill spiritual values and comfort them as they sleep.

“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:6-9
