THE WHY

As the 2024 presidential election draws near, it’s important to reflect on how our faith shapes both our words and actions.

By exploring three key questions—Who is in Charge, What is at Stake, and How Should We Act—we hope to remind you of the core biblical truths that deeply influence and impact how we engage with the world around us.

We hope the resources below enrich and equip you and your family to navigate this season with grace, wisdom, and a Christ-centered perspective.

1. WHO IS IN CHARGE?

The hope of all humans has never been solely in government. Government is a good gift from God, but our confidence is in God’s sovereignty – His control, His authority, and His presence with us.

THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY
Knowing that God is sovereign isn’t quite the same as experiencing it through prayer and personal testimony. Read The Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer and practice inviting God’s all-powerful presence into your everyday life.

2. WHAT IS AT STAKE?

The local church is bound and committed to God and to one another by the gospel. We won’t necessarily resolve all of our wisdom-based political judgments this side of heaven. However, when we commit to unity in non-essentials, it helps us love one another amid those different wisdom-based judgments.

As witnesses in the world, God commissions and releases us into His world as heralds and ambassadors of His Kingdom that has come and is coming.
