Scripture: Romans 10:9-17
Devotional Thought:
Paul lays out a beautiful chain of logic here: People are saved when they call on Jesus. But they can’t call on someone they don’t believe in. They can’t believe in someone they haven’t heard about. They can’t hear unless someone tells them. And no one tells them unless they’re sent.
You are a link in that chain.
Living sent means carrying the actual message of the gospel—not just living a nice life and hoping people figure it out. Yes, our lives should testify to the hope we have, but at some point, words are necessary. People need to hear the good news: that Jesus died for their sins, rose from the dead, and offers forgiveness and new life to everyone who believes.
Notice Paul’s conclusion: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’ There’s nothing awkward or intrusive about sharing the gospel when we understand what we’re carrying. We’re not salespeople pushing a product. We’re messengers delivering the best news anyone could ever receive.
Your feet are beautiful when they carry the gospel into your world. That message—the simple, powerful truth of Jesus—is the very thing people around you are desperate for, even if they don’t know it yet.
Reflection Questions:
1. When was the last time you verbally shared the gospel with someone? What made it easy or difficult?
2. Do you see yourself as someone with ‘beautiful feet’—a messenger of good news? Why or why not?
Application:
Practice articulating the gospel in 60 seconds or less. Include: who Jesus is, what he did, why it matters, and how someone responds. Write it down. Say it out loud. Be ready for when God opens the door.
