Scripture:
John 15:1–17
Devotional Thought:
Jesus redefines intimacy using a simple image: a vine and its branches. Fruit is not the result of striving, but of staying connected. Abiding is not passive—it’s relational. It’s choosing to remain close, even when results aren’t immediately visible.
Many of us drift toward performance, believing intimacy must be maintained through effort. But Jesus gently redirects us. Life flows from connection, not control. When we stay rooted in Him, growth becomes a natural outcome of relationship.
If intimacy feels exhausting, this passage invites you to rest. You were never meant to produce fruit on your own. Abiding is learning to trust that closeness with Christ is enough.
Reflection:
• Where do you feel pressure to perform spiritually?
• What does abiding look like in your current season?
Application:
Slow down today and intentionally remain aware of God’s presence throughout your day.
