March 9: Hope When the Future Feels Uncertain

Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:1–14

Devotional Thought:
Hope is hardest to hold onto when life feels stalled or uncertain. Jeremiah writes to people living in exile—far from home, cut off from what once felt familiar, and unsure how long their suffering will last. Yet God speaks hope directly into that disorientation. He reminds them that exile is not abandonment and waiting is not wasted.

God’s promise doesn’t deny hardship; it reframes it. He assures His people that He is still at work, still intentional, still good. Hope, in Scripture, is not wishful thinking—it’s confidence that God is faithful even when outcomes remain unseen.

If you’re longing for hope today, this passage reminds you that your story isn’t over. God’s plans stretch further than what you can see right now, and His presence remains steady even in seasons of waiting.

Reflection:
• Where do you feel uncertain or unsettled about the future right now?
• What makes it difficult for you to trust that God is still at work?

Application:
Name one area where you need hope and intentionally entrust it to God today, reminding yourself that He is present even in the waiting.
