February 24: Strength in Weakness

Scripture:
Hebrews 4:14–5:10 (ESV)

Devotional Thought:
Jesus, our Great High Priest, is not distant from our struggles. Hebrews reminds us that He sympathizes with our weaknesses because He was tempted in every way—yet without sin. In the wilderness, He felt the full force of temptation, but remained faithful.

This truth brings immense comfort: Jesus knows what it’s like to be weary, to hunger, to be misunderstood and alone. Yet He offers us more than empathy—He offers access. Because of His righteousness, we can draw near to the throne of grace with confidence.

In Lent, we remember that our weakness is not the end of the story. God meets us there and pours out mercy. Temptation does not have to defeat us. Jesus has walked this path before us, and He walks it with us still.

Reflection Questions:
1. What weaknesses in your life cause you to feel ashamed or distant from God?
2. How does knowing Jesus was tempted change the way you approach Him?
3. Are you relying on yourself or on His grace today?

Application:
Spend time in prayer today simply confessing your weakness and thanking Jesus for His strength on your behalf.
