Talk About the Bible Story

The Wise Men
Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11

Wise men follow a special star to Jesus' house so they can worship Jesus and give Him gifts.

"God has given a son to us."

• Why is Jesus special?
• If you could give Jesus any kind of gift, what would you give Him?

Prayer

"Dear God, Jesus is the best gift. Thank You for giving us Jesus. We love You, God. In Jesus’ name. Amen."

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! (Hug child.) You are my (son, daughter) and Jesus is God's Son. That's why we can still celebrate Jesus, even though Christmas is over."
 

Drive Time

While on the go, name some of the gifts you gave and received this Christmas. Talk about how giving gifts is one way we show people we love them. God showed us how much He loves us when God gave us His Son, Jesus.

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "Dear God, now that Christmas is over, please help us continue to celebrate Your Son, Jesus, by loving others the way Jesus loves us."
 

Bath Time

Add shape sorter pieces to bath time, including a star shape. Tell your child to find the shapes in the water. Each time they find the star shape, tell them to say: "Jesus is God's Son!" Talk about how wise men followed a special star to find Jesus so they could worship Him.
