God's got it.

Talk About the Bible Story

MEMORY VERSE

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart."

Proverbs 3:5, NIV

Engagement Questions

  • Who's got it?
  • What food do you like to eat?

Prayer

"Dear God, thank You for loving us so much. Thank You for taking care of us and giving us things to eat. Help us remember that we can trust You no matter what. Nothing is bigger or more powerful than You! We love You, God! In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

ENGAGE IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS TOGETHER

Morning Time

When you go into your child’s room, cuddle them and say: "Good morning, [child's name]! Do you know why today is a GREAT day? God loves you, and God loves me!"

Drive Time

While on the go, ask: "If you could have one food never run out, what would it be?" Talk about how God made the oil and flour not run out for Elijah, the woman, and her son so they could make bread to eat.

Cuddle Time

Cuddle with your child and pray: "Dear God, sometimes things happen that make us feel sad or mad, worried or afraid. Thank You that we can trust You no matter what. Happy or sad, You love us, and You've got it!"

Bath Time

Add toy food items and toy dishes to bath time. Ask your child to pretend they are a chef and cook food. While you play together, talk about how Elijah and the woman trusted God for their food and how God made their food not run out!
