In November 2016, Portland & John Mithen started Abwenzi A Yesu Friends of Jesus Inc., now called “Agape Evangelical Ministries.” It began as a 501 (3c) nonprofit foundation, around 6 years after returning from the mission field. The mission: To raise awareness, and support for orphans and widows and churches in forgotten parts of the world and to share the love of Christ through evangelizing the Good News beginning in Africa.
