LEADERSHIP COUNCIL NOMINATIONS
The Heights Church is inviting members to submit nominations for individuals who may serve on the Leadership Council.
The Leadership Council helps oversee the spiritual health and business operations of the church while ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, and doctrinal commitments of The Heights Church.
Church members are encouraged to prayerfully consider individuals who demonstrate the character and qualifications needed for this role. The Leadership Council will review all nominations and present final nominees to the church for approval according to the process outlined in the church bylaws.
Nomination Window
March 15 – April 15
The Leadership Council anticipates recommending two new council members through this nomination process.

Note: The Senior Pastor always serves as a member of the Leadership Council.
THE ROLE OF THE COUNCIL
In accordance with the council’s term structure, Leadership Council members serve rotating terms. Len Harral and Kelly McBrayer will rotate off the Leadership Council at the end of September, creating the opportunity to identify new members through this nomination process.
LEADERSHIP COUNCIL QUALIFICATIONS
Leadership Council members must be church members who demonstrate strong Christian character and spiritual maturity. According to the church bylaws and Leadership Council policies, council members should:
- Be an established and committed member of The Heights Church
- Demonstrate spiritual maturity, dedication, and integrity consistent with biblical qualities for church leadership
- Be reliable, humble, and teachable
- Be actively involved in ministry and worship
- Practice financial stewardship consistent with biblical principles
- Promote unity in the church
- Promote the mission of the Great Commission
- Have the support of their family in serving in this role
These expectations reflect the biblical standards for church leadership described in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
NOMINATION TIMELINE
Church members may submit nominations during the nomination window listed above.
After nominations are received:
- The Leadership Council will prayerfully review all submitted nominations.
2. Potential candidates may be contacted for further conversation and discernment.
3. The vetting process may include interviews, reference checks, background checks, and confirmation of theological alignment, financial stewardship, and leadership qualifications.
4. Final nominees will be presented to the church membership for approval according to the church bylaws at the annual church conference.
Submitting a nomination does not guarantee that an individual will be contacted or asked to serve, but every nomination will be carefully and prayerfully considered.
