MEET THE CROSS FAMILY

Michael and Lisa Cross, along with their 8-year-old son Elias, serve as long-term missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB) in Mexico City. After completing a year of language and cultural studies in Puebla, they relocated to the capital, where they now work to see the Gospel take root and multiply in one of the largest cities in the world. Their calling is clear: to plant churches, disciple new believers, and equip national leaders so that the Mexican church might flourish and reproduce. 

ALL ABOUT THE CROSS'S MISSION

Mexico City is home to more than 23 million people, yet only 5–7% identify as Christians. In this spiritually vast and diverse landscape, the Cross family is laboring daily to share the hope of Christ and strengthen His Church. 

Church Planting & Discipleship 

  • Partner with national pastors to establish new churches and encourage existing ones. 
  • Walk with new believers as they grow in their faith and learn to disciple others. 

    Building Relationships 

    • Engage daily in friendships and community life as avenues for Gospel witness. 
    • Encourage Mexican nationals to take ownership of the Great Commission in their own city. 

      Equipping Leaders 

      • Provide mentorship and partnership with local pastors to multiply ministry impact. 
      • Support the growth of healthy, reproducing churches throughout Mexico City. 

      WAYS TO PRAY

      • Pray for open hearts among the people of Mexico City to respond to the Good News of Jesus. 
      • Pray for the Cross family’s continued adjustment, strength, and encouragement as they serve long-term. 
      • Pray for strong partnerships with national pastors and for the planting of healthy, multiplying churches.
      • Pray for Elias to thrive as he grows up on the mission field, experiencing God’s faithfulness alongside his parents.
