JAN 2 – Walking Forward

Scripture: Isaiah 43:18-19

18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Philippians 3:13-14

13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Devotional Thought:

God doesn’t ask you to pretend last year didn’t happen. But he does invite you to stop living there. Whatever 2025 held—joy, pain, or somewhere in between—he’s doing something new. And it’s already springing up. Your job isn’t to map out all of 2026. It’s simply to press on, one step at a time, with your eyes fixed on the One who makes a way even in the wilderness.

Reflection Question:

What “new thing” might God be inviting you to notice or participate in this year?

Application:

Write down one word or phrase that you sense God speaking over your 2026. Put it somewhere you’ll see it daily.
