Cyndi Crawford’s background in ministry has been through Celebrate Recovery at The Heights from 2010-2018. She was called by the Lord to work with the native population in NW Nebraska and Pine Ridge in early 2019. She’d been there for 5 years and realized her plans were not necessarily God’s. Cyndi learned that God’s desire is for her to share the hope and healing she experienced through recovery to the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota AND in Alliance, NE! They’ve begun a Recovery ministry for native nations.
Cyndi has begun going into the jails to minister to female inmates. Upon release, she maintains a relationship with them and assists with hygiene items, food, safe shelter, encouragement with finding jobs and anything else the Lord asks. Cyndi become a certified Chaplain in early 2023 and has begun working with another female chaplain to locate transitional homes for these ladies. The transitional home is a dream that Cyndi believes the Lord has laid on her heart for “the least of these”. Her continued desire is to share God’s message of hope and emotional healing – from pride, anger, bitterness, and depression – that she experienced in and through her relationship with Christ and Recovery.
Cyndi continues to build relationships on Pine Ridge by assisting with collecting and distributing warm winter apparel for youth and hygiene kits for the homeless veterans. I 2023 Cyndi and the THBC mission team helped to build a playground fence for a church in Kyle SD as well as hold a small VBS for a few youths. The connection to this new church was made possible through the relationships built on Pine Ridge. With the Lord’s help and some very generous donations from Dallas area churches, they were able install heat in their building.
Cyndi utilizes faith based equine assisted healing (FBEAH) to help those who have suffered trauma. FBEAH teaches coping techniques using God’s word and prayer. She continues to learn and work with horses to hone those skills. Cyndi realized that working in the FBEAH field was a passion the Lord laid on her heart as a child and now utilizes the techniques to help the formerly incarcerated women and youth as well!
The Lord is doing a work here and Cyndi is excited to be His hands and feet as He leads!
