Scripture:
Lamentations 3:19–33
Devotional Thought:
These words were written in the middle of devastation. Jerusalem had fallen, grief was overwhelming, and yet hope rises in an unexpected place: remembrance. “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope.” Hope begins when we remember who God has been.
God’s mercies are not occasional—they are constant. Even in sorrow, His compassion does not fail. Hope, then, becomes an act of trust: choosing to believe God is faithful even when circumstances feel bleak.
If you’re weary today, let this passage remind you that hope doesn’t deny pain—it rests in God’s steadfast love despite it.
Reflection:
• What makes it hard for you to hold onto hope during painful seasons?
• How has God shown His faithfulness to you in the past?
Application:
Write down one way God has sustained you before and return to it when discouragement creeps in.
