Scripture:
Matthew 18:21–35
Devotional Thought:
Jesus’ parable exposes how easily forgiven people forget how much they’ve been forgiven. The servant receives mercy beyond imagination, yet withholds it from someone else. Forgiveness received but not extended eventually hardens the heart.
This doesn’t mean forgiveness is easy or instant. It does mean that grace changes the way we see others. When we truly grasp what God has done for us, it reshapes our posture toward those who have hurt us.
Longing for forgiveness often reveals another question beneath the surface: are we willing to pass on what we’ve received? God’s mercy flows freely—but it’s meant to keep moving.
Reflection:
1. Is there someone you struggle to forgive?
2. How might remembering God’s mercy toward you soften your heart?
Application:
Ask God to help you take one step—internal or external—toward forgiveness today.
