Simple Gospel

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but receive eternal life. --John 3:16

What you need to KNOW...

1. God

• He has a crush on us that He never gets over.
• He is not ticked off at us, but He is concerned for us.
• He doesn't ignore us; He is in love with us.

2. God

• When you love someone...you want to give to them.
• God knew that we could not fix ourselves.
• He gave His perfect Son, Jesus, to die for our sins.

What we need to DO... 

3. We

• What Jesus did on our behalf...it counted.
• Jesus has made a commitment to us.
• We are not trusting in ourselves or others; we are choosing to trust Jesus--His grace and His forgiveness. We are broken over our sin--we repent.

4. We

• Everybody lives forever somewhere.
• We all wonder what happens when we die.
• We are eternal beings.
• We get God and God gives us back our lives:  forgiven with a fresh start.

The Bible is the story of God loving the world and preparing you and me to receive His Son, Jesus. It is not about performing better, attending church, getting our lives together and straightening up.
