Houston, Texas

"I am so excited to see how God is going to use The Heights family to ENGAGE with the people of Ecclesia as we serve the city of Houston together."  - Pastor Chris Seay

Why Houston? This national Pioneer Place of Engagement will be a strategic place for mission and ministry opportunities for two primary reasons. One, because The Heights has a long time relationship with Pastor Chris Seay and the church he pastors in Houston called ECCLESIA. We believe God moves along the rails of relationships to accomplish His work around the world. Two, because of the vast need in the Houston area that remains in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, The Heights has multiple opportunities to serve alongside the Ecclesia community and other likeminded partners in ministry to serve the people of this city. Plus, Houston is only a few hours south of Dallas making the opportunities to ENGAGE in this city more cost effective and time sensitive regarding travel.

What are the objectives?

  • Serve the city and communities in the Houston area where Ecclesia has a ministry and missional connection and presence through Hurricane relief efforts.
  • Encourage and support the ministries of Ecclesia in the Houston area with workers, prayer and financial support.

What is the strategy?

  1. Enlist, train, and send at least 25 people from the Heights in direct engagement with the ministry in Houston during 2009.
  2. Provide direct support for Ecclesia and the ministries they are connected with in Houston for Hurricane relief efforts.
  3. Provide additional funds for special projects.
