Austin, Texas

Why Austin? This national Pioneer Place of Engagement will be a strategic place for mission and ministry opportunities due in part because of three key relationships in Austin at Mosaic Church, Oak Grove Abbey, and Capital City Fellowship. We will impact strategic areas of ministry (neighborhood ministries, healthcare, education, construction, and weekday programs for kids) allowing The Heights family a reasonably close engage trip opportunity at a relatively low cost.

What are the objectives?

  • Help to establish a ministry presence in the St. Johns neighborhood, in cooperation with the Austin ministry efforts, to provide additional health care, construction work in the elementary school in the neighborhood, and camps for kids.
  • Encourage and support the ministries of our Places of Engagement in Austin with workers, prayer, and financial support.

What is the strategy?

  1. Enlist, train, and send at least 25 people from the Heights in direct engagement with the ministry in Austin during 2009. (Medical personnel, construction workers, and workers with kids.
  2. Provide direct support for the ministries in Austin.
  3. Provide additional funds for special projects.
