ENGAGE
To reach the world as Jesus commissions, the people of The Heights must engage society locally, across the nation, and around the globe. A mission of such magnitude includes engaging people where they live, work, learn, play and raise their families. When The Heights family engages with neighbors across the street and across the world, people will know they are loved not only by what we say, but also by what we do.
The Heights family is engaging people locally, nationally, and globally because people matter to God. We believe God moves along the rails of relationships. Therefore, the strategy of ENGAGE is about building relationships with people for the purpose of friendships that naturally lead to spiritual conversations about Jesus.
Our places of engagement include locations where we continue to be used by God as catalysts for the gospel and life change. As we engage in people's lives, we pray God will bring life change resulting in transformation in these places. We will know transformation has occurred when people's minds are changed about who God is thus allowing for God then to change their hearts for all eternity.
Although The Heights is engaged around the globe in places such as Uganda, England, and Bulgaria, the vast majority of our days are lived in the local communities surrounding The Heights campus. Therefore, The Heights family is intentional about engaging people in every domain of society right where we live.
ENGAGE 1000 Service Opportunities
ENGAGE 1000 Leads to ENGAGE ONE
ENGAGE ONE is the next step in The Heights ENGAGE 1000 strategy. The vision for The Heights to bless, serve, and share with the people of our community is called ENGAGE 1000. The vision for ENGAGE 1000 is 1000 people from The Heights Family ENGAGED in relationship based ministry on a consistent basis by the end of 2010. Imagine what our city will look like when 1000 people from The Heights are engaged in relationship driven ministry on a consistent basis. Now take the next step in the ENGAGE strategy as you ENGAGE ONE. The hope and prayer of The Heights leadership is that as you are ENGAGED in serving others in our community in RELATIONSHIP BASED ministries on a consistent basis that something special will take place: YOU WILL DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP WITH ONE PERSON THAT YOU HAVE SERVED. As that relationship has been developed, the next step is to ENGAGE that ONE person in conversations about Jesus. As we SERVE people in our community, the next step is to SHARE the Gospel with people. Imagine what it would look like if each ONE in The Heights Family ENGAGED ONE in our community and shared the Gospel with that ONE person by the end of 2010. Will you ENGAGE ONE in 2010?
