Shoes for Orphan Souls
The Heights partners with Buckner Baptist Benevolences for their Shoes for Orphan Souls program.  Buckner collects new shoes year round; any size, any kind.  The Heights works with Paul and Judy Ridgway, missionaries in Bulgaria.  They have two foundations, Ridgway Ministries, Inc. and Bulgarian Child, Inc.  Buckner donates the shoes, The Heights ships them to Bulgaria on a 40-ft container along with medical equipment and other humanitarian aid and we take shoe teams to Bulgaria to help the Ridgway’s with the distribution. Each team visits 12-13 orphanages in just 5-6 days, placing 750 pairs of new socks and shoes on orphans throughout Bulgaria.

The next “SOUL” team will be in Bulgaria October 26 – November 4.  The team will be visiting orphanages housing children from newborn to age 17.  Team members will place new shoes and socks on the children, and hand out new underwear collected by THBC’s Children’s Ministry thru their ‘Bloomers 4 Bulgaria’ project during the month of October.  Team members include: Rhonda Caldwell, Dayna Castle, Jan Margrave, Mark & Deneen Vandergriff, Tresa Simmons, Dwaine Hansen, Phil & Cookie Slate from THBC; Lisa Gassiott from Highland Baptist, Dallas; Teresa Stienstraw & Jacque Stauffer from First Baptist, Corinth
