Name: John Palmer

Family: Wife, Four Children with wives and husbands and five grandchildren.  There are 14 of us total.

Ministry at The Heights:
Ministry to 65 and older.  Includes 10 ABFs.  Provide leadership training, a number of social events (LLL, Munday Funday, Trips and Tours), oversee Greeters.
 
Bible verse currently being used by the Holy Spirit in my life:  1 Cor 16b:  “We have the mind of Christ” We are not taught by human wisdom, but by the Holy Spirit, expressing spiritual words with spiritual truths.
 
What I'm most excited about at The Heights right now is:  Leadership training program for Senior Adults and excited about the willingness of our seniors to serve.

When I think of sports, I think of:
College football and major/minor league baseball and Upwards Basketball (grandson plays) and grandson’s baseball team.

In 6 months, I want to look back and know I accomplished this: I want to look back… and see growth in the Senior Adult ABF classes.
 
The 2012 Texas Rangers season will be best described by: Excitement. Looking forward to seeing the new pitcher
 
Social Networking, to me, is: Staying up with and keeping in touch with members in order to meet their needs.  Don’t do Twitter or Facebook.
 
I personally connect to the people God placed in  my neighborhood by: Attending open houses, neighborhood events (parties and Easter egg hunts), ministering to them in time of loss, bringing food.
 
My favorite TV show is: Masterpiece Theater and White Collar

I am currently praying for:  Members in hospital and those recovering from illnesses, outreach to seniors, our country and its leadership, my family, the church and its staff and the churches mission work.

My favorite restaurant in the DFW is: If I had the money it would be Three Forks, so I’m settling for Cheesecake Factory.
