Introduction to Breakthrough

I am so excited to share with you about an opportunity here at The Heights that I believe can have a huge impact on our relationship with the Lord and on the way we live out our faith in our community. We are calling this focus “Breakthrough,” and we are praying this will be a time when we all break through to a deeper understanding of God’s grace given to us in Jesus.

To help us all experience breakthrough with the Lord, The Heights staff has written 21 days of devotions on God’s promises and His power to break through.  The focus of Breakthrough is on the three major pursuits of the Christian life: Faith, Hope, and Love.

In a world where men and women desire natural power, God desires us all to tap into His supernatural power source.  The best way to access the power of the Holy Spirit is to spend time being formed in the ways of Jesus.  Only then will you be able to see breakthrough in your own life, which will certainly breakthrough to create an outer witness that impacts the world with the message of Christ.  Paul knew from personal experience what he boldly declared almost 2000 years ago:

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. 1 Corinthians 4:20

He declared to the followers of Jesus in Rome that the supernatural power of God is at work transforming lives wherever the gospel is shared:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes….” Romans 1:16

My prayer for you is that as you spend time with Jesus in pursuit of faith, hope, and love, you experience supernatural transformation by the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray that God helps you to live in the way of Jesus, following the example set by Jesus Christ, and that His love will shine through you so that others will see Jesus in you wherever you go.

May the grace of Jesus Christ our Lord, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you,

Gary Singleton
