Hearing Differently - Part 3
In our current sermon series we have been talking about how to know God’s will. We have been exploring how to hear the voice of God as we seek the will of God. Throughout the past couple of weeks we have summed it up like this:
“The people who hear God’s voice the most are the ones who know His word the best.”
While it is certainly true that God speaks to people through His word, sometimes the answer we are searching for is not simply and clearly spelled out in the Bible. So how do you know what God’s will for your life is if it is not written out for you in the pages of Scripture? It’s not the easiest question in the world to answer. Even when you think you know it, how do you know if you’re hearing God’s voice or your own voice?
This Sunday, Mother’s Day, we will not only honor our Moms and pray for God’s blessings on those who desire to be Moms one day, but we will also wrap up this sermon series by giving you some honest answers to this tough question about hearing God’s voice. I pray you will continue to read His word, invest time in prayer like Jesus did, and in the meantime, choose to serve others along the way. Jesus did all three things as He sought His Father’s will during His days on earth.
One thing I have learned when it comes to knowing God’s will for my life, if I look at what Jesus did during His days on earth, and then order my life accordingly, I am confident that I am not out of God’s will.
See you Sunday, and don’t forget to call your mom and tell her you love her!
God Bless,
Gary
