Bullseye
Have you ever shot an arrow at a bulls-eye? How about a gun? How about throwing a dart at a bulls-eye? It’s not that easy to hit the bulls-eye. It’s not just automatic – right? It’s not a matter of just pulling the trigger or letting the dart fly. The projectile does not just find the mark every time. No, hitting the bulls-eye is actually pretty tough. It takes skill, practice, and a bit of luck doesn’t hurt.
In Matthew 12, Jesus takes us on a tour of some important targets. He shows us a series of bulls-eyes on subjects as diverse as the Sabbath, the signs of the times, and family issues. Jesus shows us how to hit the bulls-eye of the target dead center.
This Sunday we will begin looking at some of these bulls-eyes that Jesus wants us to hit right in the middle of the target. I hope you will plan to be in God’s house with God’s people as we begin this sermon series that God has aimed at the bulls-eye of our lives.

Just for Teen Moms ...
We are so excited to announce the initial meeting of TEEN MOPS. These meetings will focus on loving and serving moms of preschoolers! Beginning September 9, this group will be meeting each Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM in Room C103, which is near The Chapel. Child care will be available for each meeting. Please pray for this group and encourage any teen mom you know to join us for a time of free food, encouragement and fun. GOING GLOBAL IN OUR OWN BACKYARD: Three ways you can get ENGAGED
1. International Friendship Partners
Did you know…You can have a cross-cultural ministry without even leaving your community? All you have to do is befriend an international student, and make a commitment to get together with your "adopted" student once a month, e-mail or call once a week and pray for him/her often. As a Friendship Partner, you can offer int'l students experiences of a lifetime, just by including them in your enjoyments of favorite sports, the arts, religious and cultural events, as well as celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. This is a great ministry for the entire family! We will have a Friendship Partner Orientation on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 6:00 p.m., in Room C101. Childcare is provided. 2. International Student Gathering
August 28th, 7pm, in the Brick, International Students from UTD and members of The Heights will gather together for games, fellowship, and of course FOOD! Help these students make new friends as they begin the new school year! These students come from the least reached areas of the World and are in need of a Christian friend. Come minister to the world that lives right in our own backyard!
3. International Students Coordinator Needed
Volunteer position is currently open for an Airport Pickup Coordinator. The assigned coordinator will work with other volunteers in the church to help pick up and drop international students at the airport. We need a smiling face to welcome them to America! This trip to the orphanages of Bulgaria has become known as The Shoe Team Trip. This team will go to 12 or more various orphanages led by the Bulgarian missionaries Paul and Judy Ridgway. Hundreds of pairs of shoes and socks will be sized and put on the feet of Bulgarian children who have all but been forgotten by society at large. However, after meeting these whom Jesus loves deeply and serving them at their point of need, you will never be able to forget them, the hugs they give or the smiles you bring to their faces. I had a comment from a lady on a previous Bulgarian Shoe Team which was, "this was the most challenging but the most rewarding trip I have ever been on". We also have a lot of fun doing God's work. I believe God smiles a lot during this trip.

Tiny Tots & Tunes
...providing a foundation for a lifetime of praises to the Father!!
New semester begins the week of September 16th. We are excited and pleased to offer an interactive program with parents (or grandparents!) specifically for our birth—age 3. In the style of Kindermusik and Gymboree, this is a time of music, movement, instruments, prayer and worship with your child! Come learn about God through the gift of music in a comfortable and casual atmosphere, while bonding with your child. Registration is required; In addition a caregiver is mandatory. Space is limited for this 10 week class (offered in the fall and spring semesters). The cost is $40.00 per child (caregiver is mandatory) per semester.
