Update from Tyler and Kelly Sanderford: Missionaries with Navigators in Ukraine (home on furlough in Dallas)

Hi Everyone,

We are in Dallas, TX and having a great time!!! The Lord has given us GREAT times with people so far. He knows what we need!!! We were in Houston, TX this last week and got to see a lot of friends and hear how life in Texas and the US is going. We also shared what is going on with us in a more personal way with each person. We hope to be able to meet with most of you guys this summer. Although, we understand that is impossible. Please let us know if you would like to meet up for coffee, lunch or just a stop at a park.

Some requests.

We are here this summer mostly because we need to make up the support that we have lost in the last year. We need 20 NEW supporters at $50-$100 each. We also need to raise ONE-TIME gifts in the amount of $14000 for the next year and a half. Because WE have been given the responsibility for watching God take The Navigators to a new level in Ukraine, we will be starting some new ventures. We will be traveling three times in the next year to different countries to broaden our ministry base. Hannah will be starting first grade. We will also be hiring a Nanny from the states to assist us at home with the kids in English. She will pay for her own expenses but we will need to cover the cost of her apartment rent.

Please Pray for us as we search out new support in Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Michigan, Texas. Pray for our kids as we move from house to house and for adaptability in each place we go. IF YOU KNOW OF A SMALL GROUP OR SUNDAY SCHOOL OR EVEN A FRIEND THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HEARING FROM US PLEASE LET US KNOW.

If you have not heard from us it is not because we have not been thinking of you. Emails change as well as addresses. We really do want to see all of you. We rarely get to hear how God is working in your lives and miss the one-on-one conversations. Please feel free to call 214-502-1626 (our cell for the summer). We would love to hear from you.

Tyler and Kelly

Hi Everyone,

We will be leaving Ukraine on May 20th for 2.5 months in America. We have had another great semester here in Kyiv. Kelly met individually with about 5 girls weekly. Tyler had two classes and both came at least once to the house to have discussions about the Bible in English. We have also been busy getting ready for two new American Girls who will join us this next school year in Kyiv. Because of the overwhelming amount of girls, we prayed and looked for two girls to come help us. Well, God has provided!! They will arrive shortly after we do in August.

Kelly has really found a niche with the girls God has placed her life. She has talked about marriage and kids and family so much this semester. The Lord is really using her time at home for ministry to various students and wives!!!

SanderfordWe are coming to the states this summer to see you guys as well as raise additional support for the next year. We do still need both MONTHLY and ONE-TIME financial support. The world financial downturn has affected everyone in different ways. We are so thankful to have you guys on our team of prayer partners and financial partners. We need BOTH!!! Please let us know if you (or someone you know) would be interested in hearing more about what God is doing here with The Navigators in Ukraine.

SanderfordHannah successfully passed her entrance exams to 1st grade in the Ukrainian School system. She had to do it all in Ukrainian. She will start Sept 1 of this year at a local private school.

Joshua will be starting at a new kindergarten also this next year. He has recently begun to repeat more and more words he hears at school. It is awesome to hear!!!

Caleb was found today climbing out of the pack and play…all by himself! He sure keeps us on our toes…but has the sweetest ‘wuv you’!!

SanderfordOur kids are doing amazingly well you guys!!! God has really blessed them this semester with perseverance and patience. Thank you for praying!!

Tyler went on a canoeing trip last week with two students and Dave. It was physically challenging and the students said that it was the hardest thing they have ever done. But in the end, they said they would do it again!!!

Please pray for us as we pack up and plan on a whirlwind trip to America!!!

We love you and hope to see you soon.

Hey Everyone,

We just wanted to drop a note and ask for your prayers for our kids. We know this time of year is a "sick" time of year and that sickness is common with multiple kids. Please pray for Caleb who has Bronchitis, Joshua who might have it and for hannah who we think had a flu. Sometimes in the schools here they look down on those with even runny noses. Hannah Esp. needs to be in Kindergarden as much as possible this semester to get her ready for next year's 1st Grade.

Also, Last week during my Russian Lesson (with a dean from the university i am at) we began to talk about spiritual things and for an hour and a half i shared Christ with him. He was very grateful with the way we communicate our Faith. I had asked him "What his foundation of life is?" he did not know but was intrigued by the question. Please pray for the dean. He is 67 and could be an enormous discipler if the Lord would grant us his soul.

Also, pray for our friends (the couple) that they would be awakened to eternal LIFE with the Living God.

And as always that "the gospel would spread rapidly and be honored among the Ukrainian people"

Pictures next time!!! (not fun with yucky noses)

SanderfordHello,

Well, we are back from Thailand and back to SNOW and ICE. The Lord Really blessed our time there to rest and be built up in the Lord. I came away with some promises for our lives and ministry here in Ukraine. Jeremiah 33:3 "to show us things that we don't know" regarding ministry and people. 2 Thess 3 "that the Gospel would move rapidly and honorably" IN UKRAINE. 2 Kings 18-19. Hezekiah tore down the idols and statues in the land and EVEN the bronze SNAKE that Moses had made at the Lord's command that was meant to bring salvation and healing from the snakes. Why did Hezekiah pull that down? Because the people were burning incense to IT and worshipping it rather than the Lord. HOW many snakes have I seen in my life????? This was such a meaningful verse. It shows that even those things that God has done in the past (events, places, people, things) are NOT to be worshipped or relied upon. God Our heavenly Father wants us to look to himself as the LIVING God. Not made with hands!!! Praise HIM.

SanderfordSanderfordAlready, the Lord has blessed us with two new groups of students at the university. I will meet to teach English once a week for each group. Also, I will be meeting one time a week with the students from last semester who came to the Genesis study and with whom we shared the Gospel. The Dean of Linguistics has also graciously agreed to be my Russian tutor for the semester. Praise the Lord for a great meeting and open doors for the gospel.

The kids (hannah and Joshua) are back in kindergarden and we are in process of checking out a local school for next fall for Hannah to be in 1st grade.

SanderfordSanderfordPlease pray for us as this semester gets going. We also just celebrated 8 Years of Marriage!!!!

Please pray for the Lost around us and for the gospel to spread Rapidly and honorably among Ukrainians!!!

Thank you all for your support financially during this weird time in the world. We are trusting the Lord for HIS provision.

We love you,

tyler, kelly,hannah, joshua, caleb
