Ministries for kids @ the heights
KDOG Club
...is a kid-friendly,
high energy, life-changing
experience focused on Kids learning to Depend On God! KDOG is our primary teaching tool for
children on Sunday Mornings.
We use 252 Basics Curriculum, modeled after Luke 2:52, which is built around 3 basic truths every child should embrace:
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Children learn a new virtue and verse each month and receive God Time Cards each week to use as they spend time reading the Bible and talking to God at home. Parents/Guardians receive Refrigerator Door Cards each week that assist in discussing key concepts and give children an opportunity to ask questions at home. Keep it on your refrigerator door where it will serve as a daily reminder of the monthly virtue and memory verse.
Family Virtue Packs are a resource to equip parents and guardians as they teach the monthly virtue at home by making the most of everyday moments together. They include encouragement note cards for mornings, a drive-time CD with an audio drama, worship music, a parent mealtime discussion question and bedtime stories. Packs will be sold in the KDOG Foyer on the last Sunday of each month and the first Sunday of the month.

New Believers Class
...This class is designed for children in grades K-6
who have trusted Jesus to be their Savior and Boss of their lives. This class is offered in
both the fall and spring. The next class will begin on October 14 at the 9:15 hour. You may contact Lois Osborne in the Children’s Ministry office to register for the class.
F.R.O.G. Club
…is for our “Fives Ready to Obey God” in “Big Church.” Families worshipping together is a special part of our ministry at The Heights. As
your children enter kindergarten, they will begin attending worship with you. Robbie Castleman writes in her book, Parenting in the Pew, “Teaching
your children to worship….is entering the house of your heavenly Father and saying, ‘Daddy, I would like you to meet my children’.” Worship is
a privilege you will enjoy with your child forever...treasure this time with your child. Parents, allow your child to catch from you the awe and joy
of spending time seeking God, loving His Son, and responding to the Holy Spirit in Worship. New bags are now available for our new kindergartners.

Missions Spotlight: 2007 Missions Projects During the year several opportunities are provided for children to participate in a missions action project that will teach about sacrificial giving to support God’s work in our church, our community, and around the world.
Our fall project this year is called “Bloomers for Bulgaria”. We will collect underwear from children’s sizes through young adults to send to children living in orphanages in Bulgaria. Children may bring underwear each Sunday to the Dog House in the KDOG Foyer. Our goal is to fill up a convertible at the Fall Festival.
Our Christmas project will be to support the church-wide “Three Trees” Christmas Party. Children are invited during worship to choose an ornament from the trees that will direct them to purchase a gift for a child. Leadership in the KDOG ministry will provide a party for the children whose families are invited to “Three Trees.” The “Three Trees” Party will take place on Sunday, December 16 from 4-6 p.m.
