family ties: families tied together in friendship, service, and worship
Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF)
Meets:
Sunday at 10:50am in Room C202 (Near the Chapel).
Leadership:
Gordon & Gail Black
Charles Grayson
Mission Statement:
Build deeper relationships with fellow classmates. Study God’s Word and learn to apply it to our lives as we grow spiritually. Provide service to others, as we would want to be served. Have fun with our church family. Grow in GOD so we can lead people to join us in Heaven.
Demographics/Culture Summary:
We are a family oriented group whose focus is on not only our adults but on our families as a whole. We attempt to involve the entire family as much as possible. But don’t let that scare you away as we do plenty of activities with adults only. For example, annual events for us are Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Party, Valentine Party, Class Retreat and many more.
If you visit our class you will meet people who are between the ages of 35-50, who have children of all ages. The majority of our children are between the ages 5-12, but overall range from age 0-24.
Service Projects:
- Go and Be Project – We did a redecorating project for Jess Harben Elementary. Since then, we have adopted this school, and will be helping in their Spring Carnival March 3.
- Fall Festival – We hosted a western-themed room for the kids with a Chicken Dance and bean-bag throw. We had a Native American hosting our front door.
- Cornerstone Baptist – We helped serve meals to the senior’s at the apartments for Thanksgiving. Over 300 people were served.
- Three Trees Project – We were host families and helped in K-Dog entertain the kids.
- Kelly’s Kids – Help pack up over 24,000 pieces of clothes for the mission in Bulgaria.
- We adopted a Bulgarian Pastor for 2007. The class donated $1,500 for this.
