Why Do I Think About God? - The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas

Wanting to know Jesus: curiosity or calling?

This morning we are wrapping up our sermon series, “Why Do I Think About God?”

Is it just a curiosity that comes from within us?  Is it a calling that comes from somewhere outside of us?  I’ve suggested the Bible clearly teaches that we think about God because it is a calling.  This Sunday we will see that most clearly in our text for the day found in Jeremiah 33:3.

As we head towards the weekend, let me remind us of what we’ve said so far in this series.  First, we think about God because we know there has to be something more.  (Jeremiah 29:11)  Second, we think about God because we are flawed – and we want to know that we can be forgiven and restored.  (Jeremiah 2:13)

This Sunday we will see that third – we think about God because we yearn for a connection with this One who is calling out to us.

Join us this weekend as we pursue God together, worship Him in spirit and in truth, and long to become more and more like the people He has created and calls us to be.

God Bless,
Gary

Worship Blogs from the Heights

In an effort to aid our congregation in their preparation for corporate worship and times of private worship, Trent and Logan have begun to update a weekly blog where you can find out what we’ll be singing. In addition, many times the stories or scriptures behind the songs or the composers will be discussed as well. Check out the sites for links so you can experience the songs before we gather, or use it to find out more about a song you connected with in a powerful way. You can also access the blogs through the worship tab at www.theheights.org.
