I have so enjoyed investing the past couple of months responding to the questions that were sent in to our INBOX as we walked through our INBOX sermon series together. Hopefully you not only got perspective on some great questions that many in our church family have been thinking about, but also it spurred you to continue loving God with all your mind as well as your heart, soul and strength.
Summer is a great time to recharge one’s heart, soul and mind through some days of vacation. Kim and I are enjoying a few days to do just that as we seek to have some fun while relaxing, resting, and recharging our batteries for the upcoming season of life at The Heights.
While we are away this weekend you will be in good hands while the pulpit is being filled in my absence. Dr. Earl Craig will be preaching in the 9:15 service and Dr. David Rogers will be preaching at 10:50. Both are men of God who have deep roots at The Heights and no doubt will open God’s Word and their lives to bring messages in each of the respective services that you will not want to miss.
While we are away we will be lifting you up to Jesus in prayer and trust you will be doing the same for us during these next few days. Thanks for the privilege and honor of being your pastor today and over the past ten years that The Heights has been our home.

Dr. Earl Craig – former Pastor at The Heights – preaching this Sunday at 9:15
Former Heights Pastor Dr. Earl Craig will be preaching a sermon from Luke 2:39-52 titled “Electives You Best Elect” this Sunday morning at our 9:15 service. In college there are “required courses” and “elective courses.” You have to take the former, but you can ”elect” or “choose” to take the latter. So in life, there are required courses and elective courses. But some “electives” are so important, you best elect or choose to do them. It’s your choice. Join us Sunday morning at 9:15 and hear more about “life’s electives” from Dr. Earl Craig.
Did You Know...
- Right now we have team of students from The Heights Student Ministry serving on an ENGAGE MISSION TRIP in England.
- When we began our mission partnership with Northeast England in the summer of 2001, there was 1 full time youth worker in the area where we were investing in mission. Today there are over 50 full time youth workers and literally thousands of students who have heard and started to respond to the gospel during the past decade.
- Please be praying that Jesus’ name and fame will continue to be made known as our students partner with Tees Valley Youth for Christ and various churches who have a heart for seeing the gospel thrive in Northeast England.
Uganda Clean Water Display
Make sure you stop by the ENGAGE Center to view the Uganda Clean Water Display. The Heights, along with World Vision, has begun a three year project to bring clean, safe water to our partner village, Kyalulangira, Uganda. At the water display you will learn more about our partnership and clean water project.

Summer Sports Scenes
Join us for the second of our fantastically fun sports camps for children who have completed Kindergarten – 6th grade. Scene 2 is August 4 & 6, and it is a 2-day experience which includes a variety of sports, athletic drills, and active games. K-1st grade camp is 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, and 2nd-6th grade camp is 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Cost is $25 per child, and you may register at www.theheights.org. For more information contact

THSM Mission Arlington
The Heights Student Ministry is joining forces with Mission Arlington July 28-30. Join us as we serve the community near Arlington, Texas. This 3-day trip is open to all students who have completed 7th-12th grades. Cost is $100. There is no end to the many needs and opportunities available in serving the community and the specifics are assigned to us upon arrival. Pine Cove Base Camp at The Heights August 9-13
Pine Cove Christian camp is bringing
their program to The Heights this summer. We are hosting day camp from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
at The Heights. Cost is $205 for all children who have completed grades K-4. Activities will
include inflatable water slide, ropes, water activities, team sports, crafts, Bible study, worship,
