The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas

I hope you were able to be here last Sunday to hear our special guest, Dennis Pethers. His story and his heart for the lost were truly encouraging to me. This statement from Dennis really caught my attention. When describing his upbringing, he said, “We didn’t know that we didn’t know Jesus.”

Living here in the Bible belt, it may be hard to believe that America could see the same decline that England has seen. But in England, it only took one generation who stopped going church to cause Christianity to decline from 90% to less than 10% in 100 years.

This is a statistic that we can’t ignore. While coming to church every Sunday is not a requirement for salvation, it is directly tied to our spiritual health and to the spiritual health of future generations. If we aren’t committed to worshipping God, then who will be?

Join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series, “If Not Us, Then Who?” We’re going to examine James 1:27 and see what James has to teach us about how to live a life that pleases God. If not us … if we don’t seek to live a live that pleases God … then who will?

God Bless,
Gary

P.S. I hope that you have had a chance to check out YouVersion and select a Bible reading plan for you and your family. If you haven't done this yet, it’s not too late! Join us on this year-long journey through the Bible today!

You are invited to be a part of this dynamic ministry. This team has a need for food to be prepared each week for the gathering, as well as other serving opportunities. If you are interested, please email David at david.conner@att.net, for more information.
