ALL IN: Heart - Mind - Soul - Strength
Last week we considered the question: What is your aspirational goal for your children?
We’ve got a lot of goals – but when we talk about the Aspirational goal, we’re talking about the Mount Everest goal that stands head and shoulders above the rest of all the other goals for our lives and the lives of our kids.
Hopefully you could state your aspirational goal as something like this: For me…and for my children to go “all in” with God. For me…and for my children to serve God’s purposes in our generation.
Now that doesn’t mean we or they have to be perfect in order to serve God’s purposes in our generation. It just means that we and they can’t be selective. We can’t pick and choose where we’re going to be faithful and obedient to God.
This Sunday morning we are going to explore a crucial ingredient for helping us and our children to go “all in.” It is a critical element for living an “all in” kind of life before God and before others. Here it is:
You can’t bluff. You have to live an “all in” life. Translation? You first!
Nobody can live it for you. Nobody is going to follow what you say with your mouth
if you are not living it with your life.
Mom & Dad: if you want your kids to live “all in” lives
then you have to live “all in” lives before them first.
YOU CAN’T BLUFF!
I pray that as you prepare your hearts for worshiping God at The Heights this weekend that you will make a commitment to memorize those verses we talked about last week in Deuteronomy 6:4-5. How cool would it be if each member of The Heights committed to memory those two verses that speak so loudly of what it means to live and ALL IN life! May God bless you as you seek to live ALL IN for Him this week.
God Bless,
Gary
P.S. Guys, don’t forget that this Sunday is Valentine’s Day!
